Sonic Unleashed - Wii

Sonic Unleashed is currently being developed internally by Sonic Team Japan. It will be released on the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 2 platform. One of its most outstanding graphics effect is displaying things in 3D. It will focus on two-dimensional platform levels, displayed in 3D, as well as fast, fully-3D controllable stages. This video game is primarily composed of two modes, the 3D sidescroller, with two-dimensional mode with seamless shifts to 3D. The speed of the game is unbelievable fast! With its improved lock-on for automatically targeting, it makes it much easier for hitting your enemies. You can also perform sliding across the ground, and you can also dodge obstacles to the left or right at high speed. Sliding around the corner is another new controlling mode that may be included in the video game.

An on-screen energy meter can be filled by collecting rings, which is used to activate a temporary speed boost, during which time the camera uses a fish-eye effect and motion blur; hitting enemies and obstacles will reduce the meter. As you can see from the images, the graphics are stunning. So keep an eye on the official release date for
Sonic Unleashed!

Mario Party 8 - Part 2 Wii

This version contains various interesting virtual board games for you and your friends. A total of six boards in Mario Party 8 are available, and all of them bring you up and close to the action instead of the normal bird’s eye view used in the older titles. For example, Goomba’s Booty Boardwalk and Koopa’s Tycoon Town really change the way you play the game. You need to apply some strategies to win the games. Tycoon Town is a mini monopoly game in which you invest your coins into the hotels to secure the stars they hold. The cool thing of this game is that someone can come up right under your nose and invest a few more coins to take over your investment. So you need to be smart in this mini game to win.

Graphics and sound effects are not too bad in this video game, and some new graphical effects have been added in the Wii version which allows you to see the details in the close up view of the stages. However, its graphic does not support widescreen mode though. This is an area that should be improved in the next version.

Mario Party 8 is a great causal video game for you and your friends to have fun together. As its name has suggested, this video game is particularly suitable when you are having party! So get one in your library and whenever you have a birthday or even wedding party, you can get this video game out and let your group of people laugh and have fun together.

Mario Party 8 - Wii

Mario Party is a good choice if you want to get a group of people to have fun together. You can have up to four people to play concurrently. You guys will play some interesting virtual board games to win some stars or treasure items. You can get items such as double or triple dice rolls, coin sucking vampire transformations, and coin draining electro zaps to enhance your performance in the game. Throughout the game you will collect Carnival Cards as currency to unlock other items.

In the Wii version, you will start in a carnival. Five game modes are available for you to play with. All of the major modes in previous versions are available, and two new modes, the Extras Zone and a Star Battle Arena, are added in the Wii version as well. The Extras Zone allows you to play some mini-games such as Wii Bowling or Ping Pong. In the Star Battle Arena, you need to compete against computer-controlled opponents to become the champion.

The mini-games provided in this video game are very fun to play with. Basically, you use your Wiimote in three different ways for controlling the game. You can use your Wiimote to swing as a bat, or use it as a hammer or lasso. You can also use the Wiimote as a steering wheel as well. Of course, if this game is compatible with the Wii wheel, it would be much better. Another way of using the Wiimote is to use it as a normal game controller by pushing the buttons. Lost Winds - Wii

Lost Winds is a non-traditional video game. It is a story about a boy Toku to save his homeland from a spirit Mistralis. The way to play this video game is quite different from others. You control your main character Toku indirectly by means of controlling the wind spirit Enril.

It is a 2D video game. You use the Wiimote and A button to control the wind spirit. By controlling the wind spirit, you will be able to thrust Toku up and down, slice at enemies, and crash boulders. As you progress through the game, you will be able to use new abilities like controlling the fire direction. These abilities are critical for you to succeed for the mission. This kind of controlling method is not very traditional, isn’t it? I guess that is why the title is called 'LOST' Winds. You may find it hard to control the direction you want Toku to go initially. You need to practice more to get used to manipulate the wind spirit.

In terms of its graphics, it is awesome. Color contrast being used in this video game is very eye catching. You will agree after looking at the scene snapshots and trailer of this video game. The background music is also very high in quality as well. The flutes, the bongo drums, and the whistle of the birds are so pleasant to hear. It makes you feel like you are living in a world of peace. Although it is not easy to control the main character when you first start, you will love the animations and background music of this video game. Once you get used to the non-traditional movement controlling approach, you will find more enjoyable to play this video game. Watch Trailer Here

Fifa 08 - Online Mode Wii

Online multiplayer mode is also available in the Wii version. You need to register before being able to play this mode. Once registered, you can find a random game from the online lobbies. The number of people in the lobbies are scattered among the available games. You should be able to find a game easily even though the total number of people playing the games is over hundreds. You can also add people to your buddy list and check if they're online. You can also send quick messages to them using the onscreen keyboard.

The interactive online leagues allow you to choose a team and play real-life fixtures as they happen through the season. This mode is very cool. You can choose your favorite, and the results across all platforms feed into a central scoring system, and the results are decided based on points from all games.

Animation effects of this video game are quite impressive. The stadiums also look very awesome as well. However, some camera angles give little detail. The Wii version shares most of its music tracks with other platforms. The soundtracks are very high-quality recorded by professional artists. The only downside is the repetitive comments from the commentary. So overall FIFA 08 is a video game that you should keep a copy.

Fifa 08 - Wii

Comparing to other platforms, Wii FIFA 08 has a very unique way of game play mode. In this platform, you make shots and tackles by swiping the Wii mote in different directions. You move players by using the control stick, make a pass with button A and B. However, it is not easily to use the Wii mote for precise crossing and passing. When you want to do some more subtle motions like shooting, crossing, and slide tackling, you swipe the Wii mote. To make it easier for you, a quick upward motion will produce a normal shot, and move downward to create a more controlled finesse shot. The speed of these movements will determine the power of the shot, and you can also change the direction of a cross or a free kick by tilting the Wii mote as it's in the air. You can also simulate a throw-in by putting both controllers behind your head and mimicking the throw, but watch out the cable when doing this action. Although from feature-wise perspective, Wii version is not as good as the Xbox and PS3 version, its new game play mode has injects new experience for you to play soccer video games.

Now if you are not getting used to these motion controls, you can switch to the new family play option. With this option, the artificial intelligence will help you to control player movements. So you can focus on swiping the Wii mote on the right moment for shooting and tackling. This option makes your life much easier.

This video game also provides the challenge mode which replicates a number of real-life scenarios. With this mode you need to complete certain match criteria from historic games. Many decent real-life scenarios are available for you to challenge yourself. Completing these challenging games will also allow you to equip your team from the FIFA 08 store on alternative kits, game balls, and stadiums. Thus, this mode is something that you shouldn’t miss.

We Ski - Wii

We Ski is another Wii video game that allow you to make use of your balance board. However, the core game does not support the balance board that well. Most people are looking forward to use a balance broad for this kind of game, but it end up does not really support this device well is quite disappointing.

Controlling your characters is simple too. By tilting your Wiimote and pressing the buttons to control the movements of your characters. However, to speed up your characters, you need to continue pumping both hands towards and back from your body to simulate the actions of using the poles. The problem is that it doesn’t run smoothly in the game. It may be fun in the beginning, but you will get tired very soon by repeating these postures throughout the game for gaining speed for your characters.

With Mii integration, you create your own character in this video games. Once you have picked your character,
you can then select the slopes that you want. However, the slopes provided in this video game are not very long. It only takes a few minutes for you to reach the base. Thus, in general this is a nice to try video game, but not a very outstanding one.

Wii Fit

Wii Fit is a hot video game which combines fun and fitness together. This video game is able to track your weight, body mass index (BMI). Everyone is talking about it. This innovative design has drawn many attentions from the public about this video game. With the Wii balance board, this video game takes the whole concept of games as exercise to a new level. This little device can tell you how well you're doing with its various exercise activities. This concept provides an alternative for those who are bored with the traditional gym workout.

This Wii balance board is equipped with internal sensors for detecting changes in weight and pressure of your body. To get this board up and running you need 4AA batteries. Similar to the Wii Remote, the balance board is easy to use once you get into the game. The exercises included are mainly focusing on improving muscle tone and balance.

Exercises included in this video game are yoga, muscle, aerobic, and balance. The yoga and muscle categories are created in a way very similar to traditional exercise style. Yoga poses range from the basic to quite difficult level. You do the exercises with the instructions from the virtual trainers. The aerobic and balance activities are quite interesting. You have 18 games to choose from. The aerobic games include jogging, step dancing, hula hoops, boxing, and more. The balance activities include ski jump, ski slalom, snowboarding, and more. That’s why Wii Fit is fun to play with.

One of its limitations is that you cannot tailor make your own exercises program to fit your needs. Also, if you are over 330lbs, this game won’t help because you have over its maximum weight limitation. Thus, Wii Fit is not a solution for all those who want to be getting fit.

Overall, Wii Fit has provided an innovative way to motivate you to do exercise in an enjoyable way. It serves as a good entry level for those who want to start doing exercises, but if you are really serious in keeping fit, then you better follow the traditional approach. From the video game perspective, Wii Fit does break through the video game barriers in an innovative way. So start doing your exercise today!
